Alizee Out for Spring

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday August 14
Godolphin's multiple Group I winning Sepoy mare Alizee is out for the spring after being found to have bled on Tuesday morning at Osborne Park.

AlizeeAlizee's (image Steve Hart)  trainer James Cummings reported the incident to stewards after her workout this morning.

The setback sees Alizee incur a three-month ban as per the Australian Rules of Racing.

"It's a great shame, she's such a talented mare who we had high hopes for this spring," Cummings said.

"Unfortunately there is nothing we can do in a situation like this and she will now have a good rest and hopefully she'll get her chance in the autumn."

Alizee is the best performer for her sire Sepoy and is the winner of five of her 14 starts including Group I victories in the ATC Flight Stakes and Queen of the Turf Stakes.
