Chalk Up Another Stakes Win for I'm A Rippa

Mark Smith - Saturday December 1

I'm A Rippa passed the magical seven figures in earnings when he won the Listed Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich back in June however the 5-year-old son of Love Conquers All is not one to rest on his laurels and he chalked up a third stakes win in Saturday's Group III BRC George Moore Stakes at Doomben.

The courageous gelding gave trainer Tony Gollan a fourth win on the day when defeating stablemate Most Important (I Am Invincible) by one and a quarter lengths with a long neck to the favourite Victorem (I Am Invincible) in third place.

Winner of the $1 million Magic Millions QTIS Open (1300m) at the Gold Coast back in January, I'm A Rippa advances his record to 8 wins, 7 seconds and 5 thirds from 26 starts with earnings of $1,166,757.

"I'm A Rippa has run 1.8.43 which is slightly faster than my other horse Zoustyle ran in winning earlier in the day," Gollan told AAP.

"If you had told me this morning I'm A Rippa would run faster time than Zoustyle I would have laughed. But he surprised me today."

"He can go on to race in the summer sprints and then finish up in either the QTIS Millions race or the Magic Millions Cup."

"The difference today was that I'm A Rippa could lead at a slow pace and then sprint away."

Gollan purchased the son of Love Conquers All for $55,000 out of the Banchory Thoroughbreds draft at the 2015 Magic Million Gold Coast March Yearling Sale.

The first foal of the 2-time winning Seidnazar mare Derippa, I'm A Rippa is the first stakes-winner in the family for four generations.

Derippa has a 3yo Sizzling colt named Jack Derippa, who was purchased by Aquis Farm/Blue Sky Bloodstock for $140,000 at the 2017 Gold Coast Yearling Sale and a yearling full brother to I'm a Rippa who was purchased by Gollan Racing/John Foote Bloodstock for $80,000 at this year's January sale.

Derippa has a yearling Foxwedge filly that has been catalogued by Eureka Stud to the Gold Coast Yearling Sale in January (Lot 514).

Tragically, Derippa's Spirit Of Boom colt foal was destroyed after birth.

Love Conquers All has just one at the Magic Millions, two catalogued to the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and one for the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
