Metro Winner for Aussie Rules

Young Danehill sire Aussie Rules (USA) was represented by a metropolitan winner on Tuesday when the Paul Cave trained three year-old Kabiddi scored a tenacious win at Warwick Farm.

Having just his second start, the grey gelding improved on a debut third to score a good tough win over 1400 metres.

Kabiddi was a $36,000 purchase for his trainer from the Crowning Stone draft at the 2010 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and is one of five winners from the handy producer Divine Rose.

Kabiddi is the first Australian winner for Aussie Rules, who has been successful in the Northern Hemisphere leaving six stakes-winners to date – Djumama, Cazals, Chinese Wall, Dinkum Diamond, Private Jet and Staros.

A Group I winning son of Danehill, Aussie Rules has been well supported by local breeders and covered his biggest book of 116 mares in Australia last spring, but the son of Danehill will not be returning here this year.
