One of those chosen was Chandelle a royally bred daughter of Kentucky Derby winner Swaps and Nasrullah's full-sister Malindi.
Chandelle subsequently produced a filly foal who would race as Oh So Fair.
Talented enough to win at Phoenix Park and place twice at the Curragh the lightly raced filly became a star in the broodmare barn.
Her first foal Rousslaka (Habitat), won seven races, including the Coronation Stakes (G2) and Nassau Stakes (G2) twice. She was one of six stakes-winners for Oh So Fair the best of which was undoubtably Oh So Sharp who came from the first crop of champion miler Kris.
Trained by Henry Cecil for Sheikh Mohammed, Oh So Sharp won seven races including the Fillies' Triple Crown of 1,000 Guineas, Epsom Oaks and St. Leger.
Oh So Sharp had ten foals nine of which raced and seven won. They included the Grade 2 winner Shaima (Shareef Dancer) the dam of English St Leger winner Shantou (Alleged). Another of Oh So Sharp's foals is the stakes-placed Savoire Vivre (Sadler's Wells) now a prolific sire of winners in Tasmania.
But the best of Oh So Sharp's foals was the Blushing Groom filly Rosefinch who captured the Prix saint Alary (G1).
Rosefinch proved very disappointing at stud. Just three of her 8 foals won, the best of which was the Predominate stakes (G3) winner Roscius (Sadler's Wells) a three-quarter brother to Savoire Vivre.
Another of her winners was the Caerleon filly Finko a winner over 2600 metres in France.
Sheikh Mohammed sent Finko to Australia where she produced little of note early on and was culled in 2008. In foal to Untouchable she was sold for $40,000 but she was back in the rind two years later when she made $11,000 in foal to Snippetson.
The previous year she produced a colt by Darley Stud's Commands, which was consigned to the 2011 Magic Millions gold Coast Yearling sale where he caught the eye of former Lindsay Park head trainer tony McEvoy.
Named Jimando the Commands colt wiped off his purchase price with change when he made a winning debut in the Listed Debutants Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield last October.
Jimando gets his chance to make it two stakes wins from two starts in Saturday's Listed Emirates Chairman's Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield where he will be asked to carry a 2kg penalty.
