Scratched
from the Warwick Farm barrier trials on Friday morning, Black Caviar's two
year-old half-brother All Too Hard surfaced at Flemington instead where he went
around in a jump-out up the straight.
The Hawkes Racing trained colt was making his first public appearance and
showed good ability to race on the pace and then surge to the lead for a
comfortable win.
All Too Hard (pictured as a yearling) is no stranger to the limelight having topped the 2011 Inglis
Australian Easter Yearling Sale where he made $1,025,000 to the bid of John
Hawkes acting for Patinack Farm in whose colours the colt will race.
Bred by Gilgai Farm and consigned on their behalf by Makybe, All Too Hard is
from the first crop of Patinack Farm based Casino Prince, who has sired two
minor winners from 20 runners to date this season.
All Too Hard is one of 258 two year-olds that have been paid up as second acceptors
for the Golden Slipper and 64 youngsters still in contention for the Blue Diamond,
so all eyes will be on him when he heads to the races.
His mother Helsinge is set to star again at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter
Yearling Sale where her current yearling, a filly by champion sire Redoute's
Choice, will be offered by Makybe as agent for Gilgai Farm as Lot 200.
