Under performing shuttle sire Hold That Tiger (USA) featured in Tasmania on Sunday when his progressive daughter Temper Tantrum captured the Listed Strutt Stakes in Hobart.
Trained at Mornington by Alex Macpherson, Temper Tantrum had won her past two starts at Cranbourne and Werribee before heading across Bass Strait for her first tilt at Black Type.
She rose to the challenge to take the 2100 metre staying test by more than a length, her overall record three wins from seven starts with prizemoney of $90,600.
Retained to race by her breeders, Temper Tantrum is the first stakes-winner for well related Grand Lodge (USA) mare Disco Bickie, a half-sister to Group III winner Shelborne Lass, the dam of Group III winner Elusive Touch.
Sadly for connections, Disco Bickie died last year, so no doubt they will be looking forward to breeding on with Temper Tantrum, now that she is a stakes-winner.
Temper Tantrum is the 14th stakes-winner for the Storm Cat stallion Hold That Tiger (pictured), who shuttled to Swettenham Stud for seven seasons before finding a permanent home in France.
