Myboycharlie Filly Tops MM Perth on Wednesday

A filly by former French champion juvenile Myboycharlie (IRE) topped the second select session of the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale at Belmont.

Catalogued as lot 248, the filly is another good result for her young Vinery Stud based sire Myboycharlie (pictured), whose first yearlings have made such a good impression at the sales this yera.

She was offered at the sale by Korilya Stud, acting as agent, and was knocked down to Malaysian interests.

Local trainer and agent Joe Byrne bid to $75,000 to secure the filly on behallf of his good friend and client Wayne Lim Woie Chet.

Lim purchased two horses during yesterday's premier session and backed up today to secure two more than.

Aside from the Myboycharlie filly he signed for the Street Boss-Street Talk colt from Yarradale Stud which sold for $70,000.

King Saul's trainer Trevor Andrews was active again today and went to $73,000 to secure the Danehill Express-About Carla colt from Geisel Park Stud.

A pair of Oratorio fillies attracted strong interest and sold for $70,000 - one to Russell Stewart and the other to Lindsey Smith.

All up the select sale to date has grossed over $2.4 million on 95 lots sold at a healthy average price of $25,516.

The median price is $20,000, while the clearance rate rose during the session and rounded out over 65 per cent.

"The quality lots tonight attracted strong interest and were the subject of spirited bidding," Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox noted.

"Obviously we would like to see the clearance rate climb tomorrow during the final session of the select sale.

"There is some exceptional value on offer and there's no doubt the successful buyers would be thrilled with the purchases," Cox added.

The select sale continues from 11am (WA time) tomorrow before the general session at 5.30pm on Saturday night - followed by a racehorse sale.
