Winning on debut at Turffontein in South Africa on Saturday was the Mike de Kock trained three year-old Global Strike, who has a half-sister entered for the 2012 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale by Cornerstone Stud.
The Singpsiel (IRE) colt scored a narrow victory in the 1450 metre maiden against older horses.
Global Strike was a $140,000 purchase from the Lindsay Park Stud draft at the 2010 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and is the first foal from former top class South African mare Almah (SAF), a Group II winner of eight races, who rated the Champion Older Female Stayer in South Africa of her generation.
Cornerstone Stud (formerly Lindsay Park) will offer the current yearling from Almah, a filly by English Derby winner Authorized (IRE) as Lot 372 (pictured below) at Premier next week.
