The hugely progressive John O'Shea trained filly Sea Siren became the 90th individual Group winner raised and grazed at Coolmore Australia when taking out the G2 Light Fingers Stakes in stylish fashion at Warwick Farm on Saturday.
Owned and bred by hugely successful breeder Keith Biggs, the daughter of Fastnet Rock is a sibling to three other stakes winners, including emerging West Australian sire Oratorio (AUS), himself bred at Coolmore, and G2 winning filly Lady Dehere.
Coolmore Australia's Peter O'Brien has fond memories of the filly (pictured www.stevehart.com.au) ; "Her dam (Express A Smile) wasn't very big, but Sea Siren was a good size as a foal and was a really good doer, as we have come to expect of the progeny of Fastnet Rock.
"She developed into a very strong and good looking filly as a yearling and I'm delighted to see her do so well for Keith and Christine.
"Coolmore has enjoyed incredible success with them and two of the first G1 winners that we bred here, Danelagh and Dizelle, were for Keith and he raced them both with great success. There is every reason to believe on the evidence of Saturday that Sea Siren can go on to imitate those two and establish herself in G1 company".
Graduates of the historic Jerry's Plains nursery have been enjoying a tremendous run of late.
In the last few weeks, horses carrying the unmistakable 'C' brand have enjoyed lucrative success in Australia and beyond. G1 winning filly Mahbooba(pictured) (Galileo) romped home in the G2 Balanchine Stakes at Meydan on Friday and will chase G1 riches on Dubai World Cup night.
So too will the brilliant Musir (Redoute's Choice), a dominant winner of both starts this campaign, in G3 and G2 company respectively, before being targeted at the G1 Dubai Duty Free, a race in which he is likely to prove hard to beat.
Decircles (Encosta de Lago) looks set to rank amongst the leading fancies for the G1 Australian Guineas following a gallant second in the G3 CS Hayes on Saturday while Liberator (Encosta de Lago) will be another looking to add Classic glory to his resume in the G1 Hong Kong Derby in a few weeks.
Just for good measure, pocket rocket two year old filly Diamond Earth (by Choisir) is one of the leading earners amongst the two year-old class having racked up a pair of valuable wins to date.
"We work exceptionally hard at ensuring our young stock on the farm enjoy the optimal upbringing for a developing athlete," confided O'Brien.
"It's a source of great pride to Coolmore that the farm has consistently produced stock capable of competing at and winning at the highest level - it's what we aim to do - and seeing horses like Sea Siren and Decircles perform so well is a great endorsement of our efforts.
