A stunning colt by a proven Group I producing son of Danehill out of a young imported mare from the family of US Horse of the Year and leading sire Tiznow is sure to prove popular with buyers at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale next week, particularly with a big international pedigree update looming on the horizon.
Sean and Cathy Dingwall at Caithness Breeding are in for a busy few weeks with a select draft of nine youngsters heading to Melbourne followed by 27 for the Adelaide Magic Millions.
Caithness Breeding has proven to be a reliable source of winners with well known graduates from their drafts including Dr Doute's, Show Bling, Lil Cashy, Boom 'n' Zoom, Flying Hula and Roccin Joe, etc..
Premier draft highlights include:
Lot 304, a colt by Group I producing sire Dane Shadow from well related import Tizsotrue (USA), an unraced half-sister to Group III winner Tizwest from a sister to US Horse of the Year and leading sire Tiznow. Watch him walk.
"A terrific result for a first foal, he's a strong athletic colt, very much in the Danehill mould with a muscular physique and great head," said Sean Dingwall.
"On the pedigree front he has a very exciting update as last weekend in the US, his mother's three year-old half-brother Paynter won so well on debut at Santa Anita for Bob Baffert that he earned TDN Rising Star status.
"A $325,000 Keeneland September Yearling purchase by Awesome Again, Paynter bolted in by four and a quarter lengths over five and a half furlongs and looks to have plenty of the family ability."
Lot 346, a colt by Golden Slipper winner Sebring from smart metropolitan winner Woman Eyes, a half-sister to the dam of Singapore stakes-winner Oneninetyfive. Watch him walk.
"A compact chestnut with a great walk, he is another attractive yearling by a sire that has made a big impression on buyers at sales so far this year and being an early November foal he'll just keep improving," Dingwall said.
Lot 416, a filly by leading young sire Stratum from stakes-placed proven producer Blacklist (USA). Watch her walk.
"A half-sister to three winners including stakes-placed Banished, this filly is a strong leggy individual that comes from a family of precocious performers including stakes-winning juveniles Kingston Heritage, Beauty School and Petite Dane," Dingwall said.
Lot 543 is a colt by Written Tycoon from Flicka's Star, a metropolitan winning half-sister to Group I winner Quick Flick and stakes-winner Super Espion. Watch him walk.
"An eye-catching chestnut with a prominent white blaze, the colt is a well grown, good walking half-brother to six winners and his grand-dam left nine winners, so it's a great running/winning family," Dingwall said.
