Red hot sire Fastnet Rock is setting the pace at the top of the Australian General Sires List by earnings this season, but with no runners in the Group I $1million MRC Blue Diamond Stakes on Saturday the door is open for his rivals to claw back some ground.

A perennial contender for Champion 2YO sire honours is Vinery Stud's More Than Ready (USA), who has the Blue Diaomnd favourite Samaready and a handy back-up in Cambiaso, who could easily improve on recent runs.
Currently running 15th on the General Sires List with 63 winners of $2.6 million, More Than Ready is poised for a strong challenge in the remainder of the season due to a raft of smart juveniles waiting in the wings and will zoom into the Top 10 if his star filly Samaready can deliver a win.
Below are the leading two year-old sires by winners this season and at the top is More Than Ready, a list which reflects the perception that his babies are indeed flying.

Champion sire Redoute's Choice is never far off the pace and has a strong hand in the Blue Diamond with a couple of exciting fillies in Mama's Choice and No Looking Back, the latter winning the recent Magic Millions 2YO Classic before being relegated to second on protest.
With first prizemoney of $600,000, the winner of the Blue Diamond brings home plenty of cash for their sire's tally and in the case of Redoute's Choice could put him within striking distance of the pace-setter Fastnet Rock.
