Inglis Race Series Continues on Sunday

Media Release - Thursday February 23

The first Inglis Bonus race for two-year-olds this season forms part of Canberra Racing Club's Black Opal Preview Day this Sunday.

A $50,000 Bonus will be paid by Inglis to connections should the winner of Race 4 – Lightning Ridge Plate (2YO, 1000m) be nominated to the Inglis Race Series.

Up to five horses in the field are eligible to receive the $50,000 Inglis Bonus. These horses will be identified by wearing an Inglis blue saddlecloth in Sunday's race.

A win in this race could see some lucky owners be rewarded with up to $68,000, with the Inglis Bonus in addition to first place prizemoney and CanBOBS bonus on offer for eligible horses. In addition to this rich Inglis Bonus on offer, the winner of this race will also be exempt from ballot for the Listed Black Opal Stakes held on 11 March.

Those eligible for the Inglis Bonus include the impressive first start winner No Risque. The Not A Single Doubt gelding from the Joseph and Jones training team won easily over the same trip and track two weeks ago.

Trainer Anthony Cummings is sending Casino Prince filly Diamond Player to Canberra first up for the Bonus. Cummings is currently tied for the lead for the $50,000 Inglis Trainer Bonus with Gerald Ryan. Diamond Player was sent for a spell following a midfield effort at Warwick Farm last November behind leading Blue Diamond contender No Looking Back.
