bred three year-old Northern Emperor made it three wins in as many starts when
he beat older horses to win the Natal Carbineers 157th Anniversary
Pinnacle Stakes at Scottsville on Sunday in South Africa.
The Charles Laird trained son of Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) was having his first
attempt at 1600 metres and took the feature by three-quarters of a length.
A $90,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Kitchwin Hills draft, Northern
Emperor (pictured) is the fourth winner for Group I VRC Salinger Stakes winner Pharein,
who died in 2010.
