New Stakes-Winner for Congrats

CONGRATS daughter Regal Betty lodged her first stakes win on the weekend when powering over the top of her rivals to take out the Arizona Oaks.

The John Sadler-trained 3YO was forced to give away an incredible head start in the feature given the tearwaway tactics adopted by odds-on favourite Lasso From El Paso who scorched to a nine length lead.

At one stage Regal Betty was a dozen lengths off the pace but clicked into gear approaching the bend racing up to the leader before surging clear to win by 3-lens.

Regal Betty is the 8th individual stakeswinner sired by Congrats who is credited with two Grade One winners and a total of four Grade One performers.

Congrats(pictured) , the Champion First Season in the USA (2010), is the sire of 86 winners from 130 runners with a grand total of 20 black-type performers.
