Street Hero's first crop of Australian yearlings
were presented for sale on day one of the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale at
Oaklands Junction and averaged a sale price of $93,750, nearly six times his
2009 service fee of $16,500.
The average price for yearlings presented on day one at Oaklands was $73,392 with
179 lots offered for sale.
Lot 87, (pictured) a colt out of Stakes winning mare Mutate was knocked down to a
consortium comprising of Cameron Cooke Bloodstock and Kennewell Racing for
$100,000 and is now destined for South Australia while Lot 183, a bay filly out
of Royal Lineup was purchased by Colin Little Racing for $87,500.
"We have been delighted with the feedback we have received on the Street Hero progeny
for some time. This was reflected in yesterday's sales results," Deslee Santic
commented.
Street Hero (USA), a Gr 1 winning son of Street Cry was the second fastest
winner of the Norfolk Stakes within the last ten years winning the Norfolk
Stakes one second faster than Lookin at Lucky who was champion 2yo & 3yo of
his year.
Street Hero who compliments resident stallion Purrealist at MAKYBE is set to
shuttle to Australia for his third season in 2012. Purrealist has already
produced three metropolitan winners to date including Pure Hustle, a colt
trained by Gai Waterhouse and on a Golden Slipper
campaign.
Four more Street Hero yearlings (three colts and a filly) are on offer at the
Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, one tomorrow and three on Thursday.
