Victorian Buyers Spend Up

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday February 28
The Inglis Premier Yearling Sale is always well supported by domestic buyers from the home state and they are particularly strong this year with the lure of VOBIS Gold bonuses proving an appealing incentive.

Robbie Griffiths is leading the buyers list with seven purchases from the ultra strong middle market, his most expensive acquisition a Choisir filly from Runaway Jesse secured for $145,000 from Three Bridges Thoroughbreds.

Peter Moody is strong as always with eight purchases totalling $717,000. He's again been targeting middle market horses, his top purchase interestingly a Bel Esprit filly (pictured) from Quiet for $180,000 that was snaffled from the draft of Rangeview Park Thoroughbreds.

Does she look like Black Caviar?

We'll let you be the judge.

Moody has also shown himself to be a fan of Northern Meteor securing four youngsters by the Group I winning son of Encosta de Lago.
