Trainers
dominated the buyer's list at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale with Robbie
Griffiths, Anthony Cummings, Mick Price, Peter Moody and David Hayes all
spending up at the Victorian showcase.
While Hong Kong participation at this sale was significantly down on last year,
the South African contingent were particularly strong this year after being largely
absent from Magic Millions in January.
South African buyers were credited with purchasing 28 yearlings for $1.9
million making them the third biggest regional buying group behind Victoria and
NSW.
They purchased in the middle market and got great value for money and why wouldn't
they be back? Given their reigning Horse of the Year Igugu was plucked from
this sale in 2009 for $65,000.
