Rheinwood Pastoral Leads Vendors

NSW based breeders Ray and Marilyn Willis of Southern Highlands based Rheinwood Pastoral finished as the leading vendor by average at the 2012 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale with three youngsters averaging $185,667, far above the overall sale average of $73,278.

Best known for having raised and sold dual Group I winner Albert the Fat, Rheinwood starred during the second session when their Fastnet Rock colt (pictured) from So Funny made $340,000 to the bid of BC3Thoroughbreds/ David Hayes Racing, while their second best seller, a filly by Fastnet Rock from Thisideup will also be going to David Hayes, who snapped her up for $165,000.

Victorian owner/breeder Gerry Ryan's Limerick Lane Thoroughbreds were next on the list, their best result coming with a Redoute's Choice colt from stakes-placed Chausson Dore (IRE) that made $200,000 when knocked down to Griffiths Trading.
