Forging Ahead

Tara Madgwick - Friday December 13

It’s no secret this young stallion has been churning out the winners this season, but did we realise he is now the leading sire of three year-old winners in the country ahead of champion sires Fastnet Rock and I am Invincible.

Deep Field is the leading sire of 3YO winners in the country this seasonNewgate Farm’s Deep Field has always had the foal numbers to suggest he could make a big impact and now that they are winning regularly that impact is being seen.

Joe O’Neil’s Prime Thoroughbreds colours were carried to victory at Canterbury on Friday night by talented Deep Field filly Fituese.

The John Thompson trained filly made it three wins from four starts with another easy victory to win the Benchmark 70 event over 1100m by more than two lengths,

A $55,000 Magic Millions Perth purchase for Prime Thoroughbreds from the Western Breeders Alliance draft, Fituesehas already won close to $90,000 and looks to have a bright future.

She is the second winner from Cattalo, a Tiger Hill (IRE) grand-daughter of four-time Group I winner Mannerism.

Deep Field will be strongly represented at upcoming sales in 2020.
