Showcasing to Continue Karaka Million Dominance

Media Release - Thursday December 26

Taroni, an impressive 2YO winner at Ellerslie on Boxing Day in the colours of Cambridge Stud's Brendan and Jo Lindsay, joins Group two-winner PLAY THAT SONG, stakes performer Ohio Showgirl and Australian-based Disco Lights to give former Haunui Farm stallion Showcasing (GB) (Oasis Dream) four of the top twelve qualifiers as the countdown to the Karaka Million gets underway in earnest.

ShowcasingShowcasing has been a dominant force in the Karaka Million since his first crop hit the track in 2015.  With runners in every rendition since, he has a win (Hardline) and runner-up (Showmeyamoneyhoney) to his credit, along with a Karaka Million 3YO winner (Raghu) and looks to have another strong hand in 2020.

With four stakes performed two-year-olds so far this season, Showcasing has a total of eight stakes performers in current season with three-year-old filly Showoroses (NZ) (Showcasing) adding to her G3 placing in the Bonecrusher Stakes with a brave effort to finish third in the G2 Eight Carat Classic (1600m) at Ellerslie on Boxing Day.

Showcasing’s final southern hemisphere crop will go through the ring at Karaka at the end of January with 24 yearlings on offer throughout the week.  Anyone looking for a Karaka Million contender should be inspecting them all!
