$320,000 for Melbourne Cup Half-Sister

Widden Stud had the honour of offering the half-sister by Star Witness to Melbourne Cup winner Vow and Declare at the Magic Millions on Thursday for her owners Paul Lanskey and Helga Hueston and got a great result when she fetched $320,000.

$320,000 - Half-sister to a Melbourne Cup winner The fourth living foal of Geblitzt, the athletic chestnut is a full sister to stakes-winner Lycurgus and half-sister to $5.7million earner Vow and Declare.

She was snapped up by Spendthrift Australia, who have bought some outstanding fillies at this sale including the $650,000 Frosted (USA) filly from Fast Fleet that was also offered by Widden Stud.

The Geblitzt filly provided the best result so far at this sale for Widden Stud’s Star Witness, whose unbeaten son Aim is favourite for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic on Saturday.

Geblitzt has had a change of pace the past two seasons and has a filly by Shalaa (IRE) to follow and was covered last year by American Pharoah.
