Lonhro and Denman Headed to US for Darley

Darley in America announces stallion fees for the 2014 breeding season with Lonhro set to return to the US for a third season accompanied by his exciting young son Denman, who has had three winners from his first four Australian runners.

Darley's 2014 American roster will be led by three of the world's best stallions:Street Cry, who is acquiring a reputation as asire of sires withStreet Sense, Street Bossand Street Hero all siring G1 winners in 2013;Bernardini, who has sired 3 G1 winners in 2013; and perennial source of quality and versatility,Medaglia d'Oro.All three will stand for a fee of $100,000.

Street Cry is the sire of America's best two-year-old, New Year's Day, who won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita last weekend.

In doing so he became Street Cry's second Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner, following in the hoofprints of first crop son and fellow Darley stallion,Street Sense. Eclipse Champion Juvenile Street Sense, who remains the only horse ever to win both the Breeders' Cup Juvenile and Kentucky Derby, will stand at a fee of $40,000.

He returns to Kentucky from a year at Darley in Japan during which he sired G1 winners Aubby K and Sweet Reason.

Discreet Cat has had his best year yet. He has sired two G1 winners in 2013, Discreet Marq and Secret Compass, and is currently behind only Street Sense andHard Spunon the leading third-crop sire list. The total number of Stakes wins by Discreet Cat's progeny places him at the top of all third-year sires. Discreet Cat will stand for a fee of $20,000.

One of the most notable announcements for Darley in 2014 is that theirfirst reverse shuttler, Australian Champion sire and Horse of the Year Lonhro(pictured) , who has been incredibly popular since he joined the American roster two years ago, will be joined on the shuttle by his son, G1-winner and Australia's leading first season sire,Denman.

Lonhro will remain at a fee of $30,000 and Denman will stand at a fee of $15,000 in 2014.

Also new to Darley's stallion ranks in America is Kentucky Derby and Dubai World Cup winnerAnimal Kingdom.An incredibly versatile racehorse with the ability to excel on any surface, Animal Kingdom will stand at a fee of $35,000.

The third newcomer in 2014 is the recently retired G1 Forego winner,Emcee. The handsome son of Unbridled Song and one of the fastest horses to race last year will joinDesert Partyat Sequel Stallions in New York in 2014.

Both will stand at a fee of $7,500.Girolamo, A.P. Indy's G1-winning sprinter, will relocate to Darley's Jonabell Farm in Kentucky and stand at a fee of $12,500.
