$150,000 for Thewayyouare Colt

Media Release - Friday January 31
Magus Equine principal Willie Leung was in the action early on the last day of the Select session of the National Yearling Sales at Karaka when he bought Lot 926, the Thewayyouare (USA)  colt from the stakes placed Volksraad mare, Alleyrun for $150,000.

Thewayyouare colt from Alleyrun - Trish DunnellThe half-brother to promising three-year-old Allez Eagle and five race winner King's Fortune is the second member of the family bought by Leung at Karaka and he is adamant this is a pedigree that will continue to excel on the track.

"I like the look of the progeny from Thewayyouare and bought the top priced lot by him in the Select session last year," he said.

"I also bought the half-brother to this guy at the Ready To Run Sale in November as I think it is a family that will continue to excel on the track."

Leung was taken by the colt during his pre-sale inspections.

"He is a real precocious type, who I think will run as a two-year-old so he will stay here in New Zealand to be aimed at the Karaka Million."

Leung bought the Goodwood Stud-presented colt on behalf of Hong Kong businessman Simon To, who races a number of horses purchased in New Zealand, including Dining World who will line up at Sha Tin this Sunday.

Dining World raced as Touch Win from the Roger James stable in New Zealand and won three of his first four starts here before finishing fourth in the Gr. 1 Levin Classic at his last start before heading to Hong Kong. – NZ Racing Desk.
