Lightly
raced Purrealist gelding Tansy broke his maiden by seven lengths at Stoney
Creek on January 28 and followed it up with his first metropolitan success when
scoring a tenacious win at Sandown on Wednesday, providing a pedigree update
for his half-sister heading to Inglis Premier.
A half-brother to stakes-winner Vatican and full brother to stakes-placed Adjuster,
Tansy won the Benchmark 70 event over 1000 metres by half a head as favourite.
A homebred for Makybe, who raced and retain an interest in her sire Purrealist,
Tansy has now won two of four starts for Byron Cozamanis and looks to have a
bright future.
Tansy is the sixth winner for Our Sistine, a winning half-sister to NZ Horse of
the Year King's Chapel.
Makybe will offer the current yearling from Our Sistine, a filly by Stryker at the
2014 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale as Lot 447, with Yallambee Stud to offer her
as agent.
Yallambee will also offer three well-bred youngsters by Purrealist on behalf of
Makybe and they include Lot 253, a colt from stakes-winner Fabiarna and Lot
598, the half-brother to Group I winner Pear Tart from Tangerine Dream (IRE).
With his oldest progeny just four year olds, Chatswood Stud based Purrealist is
the sire of Group I winner Hawkspur and stakes-winners Melrose Place and Storm Approach.
