Two year-old filly Forbidden Jewel improved sharply on a debut sixth in a strong juvenile event at Kembla won by stakes bound filly Veloce Forte, charging home to win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
She settled off the pace for Jessica Taylor and found the line strongly when in the clear to win the 1300 metre restricted event by half a head.
"Scott has always liked her," said Lucy Singleton representing her husband Scott, who was at Cowra races with their other runners.
"He bought her for a good price at the sales."
That he did, given that Fastnet Rock yearlings in 2013 averaged $439,688 and sold for up to $4million.
Forbidden Jewel was plucked from the draft of Think Big Stud and as you can see in this yearling photo, she did in fact have four legs!
She is the second winner from Illicitly, a half-sister by Kaapstad to Group I Brisbane Cup winner Piachay and Group III winner Utility, so has a bit of pedigree to suggest longer trips might be even more to her liking.
Think Big Stud had a 100% two state record with three
horses on Wednesday.
Forbidden Jewel started the winning run, while at Doomben the Robert Heathcote trained Olympic Anthem (3g Starcraft x Fire Song) won again and is an impressive graduate of the
TBS breaking and pre-training facility.
The most exciting winner of the day was his stablemate Larimus, who scored at her third start and is by resident stallion Prince Arthur from Danlora (GB).
Prince Arthur had very limited opportunities but currently boasts a 66% winners
to runners record.
Results like these show Think Big Stud will sell a winner, breed a winner
and prepare a winner.
