That's what we see though with Darley's heavy hitter Street Cry firing up with eight yearlings averaging $520,625 and a new personal best in the Southern Hemisphere.
He topped Wednesday's session with a stunning colt from blue-blooded import Star on High (USA) that made $1.5 million when secured by Emirates Park in partnership with Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.
Street Cry also has the top filly sold so far with Segenhoe Stud's filly from Munhro selling for $1,050,000 on Tuesday.
Coolmore's Choisir is probably a sire that might surprise a few to be so highly placed, but he's had three absolute rippers go through the ring.
Kia Ora Stud sold a Choisir colt from Kerimba (IRE) for $460,000 to Tom Magnier, Milburn Creek as agent for Makybe sold the brother to multiple Group I winner Starspangledbanner for $450,000 to Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, while also for Milburn Creek, the first foal of Group I placed Valdemoro made $340,000 when secured by Richard Jolly.
For a stallion with the record of Exceed and Excel, his progeny often look good value in the sale ring in comparison to some of his peers although he did get a great result with the colt from Allegra that made $1million for Kia Ora Stud when bought by George Moore Bloodstock.
From the family of Golden Slipper winner Mossfun, he is amazingly only the second million dollar yearling for Exceed and Excel, whose only previous success at this level was a colt from Skating that made $1.2 million at Inglis Easter back in 2007.
