Highlights for us this year were a Redoute's Choice colt from Fleeting Touch (USA) that made $600,000 to the bid of David Raphael.
The colt is a three-quarter brother to Group II VRC Sires Produce Stakes winner Running Tall and full brother to this season's Group I placed three year-old filly Sensibility.
A half-brother to our promising young sire Nicconi and five time Group I winner Niconero from star producer Nicola Lass also hit the mark with buyers.
By champion sire Fastnet Rock, the blue-blooded colt was bought by Tom Magnier for $500,000.
$500,000 was also the price paid for our Medaglia D'Oro (USA) filly from Cryptic Miss. Bought by Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock, the filly is a half-sister to Group I Victoria Derby and ATC The BMW winner Fiveandahalfstar.
Tom Magnier was also the buyer of our Lonhro colt from Group II winner Ballet Society that fetched $425,000.
Session II proved exceptionally strong this year with our Northern Meteor colt from Saffie Darling making $640,000 in that part of the sale to be our top seller.
We congratulate all our clients on their success and wish successful purchasers the best of luck with their new acquisitions.
Northern Meteor Yearlings Sell for Up To $640,000
As we expected, the second last crop of yearlings by our ill-fated star sire Northern Meteor were in keen demand at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale with 19 selling in Session I at an average $256,316.
Top seller was a dashing bay colt from Group I winner Danni Martine that was bred by Ashleigh Thoroughbreds and consigned for sale by Southern Cross Breeders fetching $525,000 when bought by C Lai.
Not far behind was a colt from Tara's Spur that made $450,000 for Newhaven Park when bought by Blue Sky Bloodstock/Gai Waterhouse and our own half-sister to Group I ATC Randwick Guineas winner Dissident from Diana's Secret that made $400,000 when knocked daown to Gai Waterhouse/James Harron Blooodstock.
Another interesting result for Northern Meteor was the full sister to dual Group I winner Zoustar, who was sold by Attunga Stud for $375,000 to David Redvers Bloodstock/Chris Waller.
As good as Northern Meteor's results were in the premium part of the sale, his overall top seller came surprisingly from Session II.
Consigned for sale by Widden Stud, the colt from Saffie Darling was bought by the China Horse Club for $640,000 making him the most expensive yearling sired so far by Northern Meteor.
A stunning individual, he is closely related to HK Horse of the Year and World Champion sprinter Sacred Kingdom, who is by Northern Meteor's sire Encosta de Lago.
$460,000 Colt Stars for Stratum
Proven Group I producing sire Stratum proved popular at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale with seven yearlings averaging $192,143 in Session I.
Stratum had only one youngster passed in as vendors found plenty of admirers for his progeny.
His best result was for Kia Ora Stud, their strikingly marked bay colt from well bred import Isaure (IRE) fetching $460,000 when secured by George Moore Bloodstock.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club signed for a Stratum colt from Bellabaci (NZ) for $300,000, while leading buyers Shadwell Australasia bought a Stratum filly from Sky Risks (Fr) for $250,000 and a colt from stakes-winner Warpath for $130,000.
$475,000 Colt an Easter Star for Sebring
Our red hot young sire Sebring could not be going any better on the track with seven stakes-winners this season, his stock snapped up by all the good judges at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale where 11 were sold at an average of $173,81 during Session I.
Leading the way for Sebring was the full brother to Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes winner Believe Yourself, who was fourth in the Golden Slipper and will run as one of the favourites in the Group I ATC Sires Produce Stakes on Saturday.
Bred and consigned for sale by Stuart Ramsey's Turangga Farm, the colt from Private made $475,000 when bought by Shadwell Australasia.
Also popular, a colt from Moulin Rouge that made $260,000 for Rheinwood Pastoral when secured by KM Yeung.
Easter Success for Star Witness
The only first season sire with significant numbers at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale this year, Star Witness had six yearlings average $73,333 in Session I led by a filly from Intuit that made $150,000 for Widden Stud when knocked down to Big Red Farm, Jpn.
Jason Warren Racing purchased another Widden consigned Star Witness colt from Group IIII Strikeline for $110,000, while in Session II Goodwood Farm sold a colt from Thanksgiving for $125,000 to Hawkes Racing and Widden sold a filly from Hiragana for $130,000 to DGR Thoroughbreds.
