New Staying Stakes-Winner for Sebring

Tara Madgwick - Saturday April 12
He might have been a Golden Slipper winner, but as a sire Sebring is proving nothing is beyond him with another new stakes-winner added to the tally at Caulfield on Saturday with up and coming stayer Bring Something taking out the Listed MRC Galilee Series Final.

The Ken Keys trained gelding was sent out a short priced favourite for the 2400 metre staying test and proved his dominant last start six and half length win at Cranbourne was no fluke.

SebringNot far behind the place-getters in several of the better three year-old races last spring and seventh in the Group I VRC Victoria Derby, Bring Something is a stronger competitor this preparation and showed that when surging clear to win his first stakes race by two lengths.

A $30,000 Inglis Premier purchase for his trainer from the draft of Northern Lodge, Bring Something has won twice and placed second once from 10 starts earning just shy of $150,000 in prizemoney.

Bring Something is the first winner for Metellus, an unraced daughter of AJC Australian Derby winner Naturalism from Bolt of Lightning, a daughter of the great Denise's Joy.

It's a legendary family packed with Group I stars and has worked well with Sebring's sire More Than Ready (USA) previously to produce champion mare More Joyous.

Bring Something is the ninth stakes-winner for Sebring, whose oldest progeny are three year-olds.
