First Foal for Blue Diamond Winner
Tara Madgwick - Tuesday, 15 September 2009

Hunter Valley based Amarina Farm is home to some blue-blooded mares from all over Australia including Blue Diamond winner Sleek Chassis who is a mother for the first time this spring.

A homebred for Bob and Rosemary Scarborough, Sleek Chassis produced this beautiful filly by champion juvenile sire More Than Ready (USA), the youngster bred on the exact same cross as Golden Slipper winner Sebring with Sleek Chassis being a daughter of Golden Slipper winning sire Flying Spur.

Sleek Chassis won the 2007 Group One MRC Blue Diamond Stakes by more than a length from Zizou and Shrewd Rhythm, later retiring with the overall record of three wins and four placings from just 14 starts with earnings in excess of $820,000.

Another interesting foaling at Amarina is this Nadeem filly from Heavenly Bound (USA), whose first foal is entered in the 2009 Keeneland September Yearling Sale as Lot 3152.
