The Journey Continues for Lindsay Park
Breednet - Media Release - Monday, 9 November 2009

Sound Journey’s win in the Emirates Airline Handicap (1400m) at Flemington on Saturday capped off a winning run of late for both his sire Good Journey (USA) and Lindsay Park Stud.

The winner of the 2008 Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes recaptured some of his best form when coming from near the tail of the field to claim the final race of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. His time of 1.22.18 was the slickest of all 1400m races during the carnival.

Sound Journey’s sire, Good Journey, has unearthed a couple more emerging sprinters recently with the Darren Weir trained Via Real and Robert Heathcote’s Ocean Journey both having won over 1000m by 3 lengths and 5 lengths respectively.

Good Journey (pictured) has already had 8 winners this season from limited runners and his statistics continue to impress; perhaps the most compelling being that from his first crop of just 23 live foals he’s produced 12 winners including Group 1 winner Grand Journey and Group 2 winner Sound Journey.

With a world class set of credentials next to his name, Good Journey is one of the most exciting up-and-coming stallion prospects in the country. His first Lindsay Park Stud bred progeny are now on the ground and click here to see a selection of his beautiful babies this spring.

Lindsay Park Stud’s stallion roster is now coming of age with the likes of Barely a Moment, Face Value and Real Jester all having an impact on a national scale.

Barely a Moment has made a promising start to his stud career and currently sits 3rd on the first season sires list with 1 winner and 2 further placegetters from 4 runners, whilst Silent Surround continues to fly the flag for her sire Face Value when runner-up behind star filly Faint Perfume in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes.

Real Jester, whose first Lindsay Park Stud bred progeny have just turned 2, added another city winner to his name when Tudor Spirit saluted at Morphettville on Saturday.
