Singleton's blue and white colours were carried to victory by a smart debut
winner at Gosford on Tuesday.
The Anthony Cummings trained Anabaa (USA) (pictured) filly Hannah Jane ran up to some
smart recent trial form when she dashed away to win the 1100 metre maiden by nearly
three lengths.
A $160,000 purchase for Strawberry Hill from the Rosari Farm draft at the 2010
Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Hannah Jane is a half-sister to former brilliant
juvenile Mirror Mirror, who won the 2006 Magic Millions 2YO Classic for Singleton
beating Churchill Downs.
Bred by Ged Nolan and his family at Rosari Farm, Hannah Jane is the fourth
winner from Fair Vanity, a half-sister by Rustic Amber (IRE) to Group II winner
Tennessee Vain. A fine family over many years, it was in the limelight last
season for producing Group I STC Coolmore Classic winner Aloha.
The team at Strawberry Hill will be hoping Hannah Jane can turn out to be as
good as Mirror Mirror, who retired to stud with earnings in excess of $600,000,
her first foal, a filly by Redoute's Choice selling for $500,000 at Magic
Millions earlier this year.
