First Runner, A Winner
Tara Madgwick - Sunday, 11 December 2011

Blue-blooded gelding Allthekingshorses cast off maiden status with a strong win at Benalla on Sunday providing a dream start to the training career of Sam Pritchard-Gordon.

Formerly Racing Manager for Lee Freedman, Pritchard-Gordon struck out on his own earlier this year as a trainer and Allthekingshorses was his very first runner.

Previously prepared by Tim Martin, Allthekingshorses had placed twice from his previous four outings and was resuming from a spell of 16 weeks.

Sent out favourite, he relished the heavy conditions to win the 1400 metre maiden by a long neck for Jason Benbow with four and three-quarter lengths back to the third horse.

"Jason was very happy with him today and thinks he can win races in town over a longer trip," said Sam Pritchard-Gordon.

"He's quite a dour horse and we thought the 1400 might be a bit short, so he's done a good job as he really wants to be a stayer."

A $260,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Kitchwin Hills, Allthekingshorses(pictured as a yearling) is a four year-old half-brother by Galileo (IRE) to successful sire Dane Shadow and Group III winner SAlgado.

He is the sixth winner from six foals to race from champion filly Slight Chance, who 12 races and $1.7 million, six of them in Group I company.

Now aged 22, Slight Chance has a yearling filly by Redoute's Choice, but no foal this year after missing to the same sire last year.
