Premiership-winning jockey Hugh Bowman will take over the reins on last start winner Monton in Saturday's Group II Villiers Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm.
The Ron Quinton-trained galloper broke through for his first win in a year when he staved off a late challenge from Liteinthenite in the Listed Festival Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on December 3.
On that occasion, the son of Catbird was ridden by apprentice Sam Clipperton after he replaced senior rider Chris O'Brien, who was indisposed.
Bowman partnered Monton in his New Zealand campaign at the start of the year. The gelding finished eighth in the Group I Railway Stakes (1200m) and Group I Telegraph Handicap (1200m).
The hoop has also been booked to ride the Joe Pride-trained News Alert in the Listed Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m).
The galloper resumed for his new stable with a 2-1/2 length fifth behind Group I winner Atomic Force at Canterbury on November 26 and has a win and two placings from six attempts second-up.
News Alert finished second in the 2009 Razor Sharp Handicap behind Novacastrian Prince Braeman.
