As we
mentioned yesterday, sire averages at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale can
paint a bleak picture as we are dealing with fourth tier yearlings, however when
you pay your service fee you often don't know that a fourth tier yearling is
what you are going to end up with.
The harsh reality of breeding horses is that not all are born beautiful, so for
those that can't make Inglis Easter, Magic Millions or Inglis Premier, the
Inglis Classic looms large on the horizon.
The final catalogue features a mix of horses made up of those that didn't measure
up to the other sales either on type or pedigree and when you look at them you'll
know which category they fit... and it doesn't mean they won't run
Then you have a few standouts that slip through the cracks for one reason or
another and invariably they are your top sellers and they are often here by
design, placed by the astute vendor to stand out from the crowd and be that big
fish in the smaller pond.
