Arrowfield sires Charge Forward and Redoute's Choice have combined to produce a very smart Hong Kong trained three year-old in Best Eleven, who won his fourth race in a row when saluting at Sha Tin on Sunday, providing an important update for his half-brother headed for the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale next week.
The Tony Cruz trained sprinter moved up to Class Two company for the first time and won the 1200 metre dash by the best part of a length, his overall record now five wins and a second from nine starts.
"He is just so honest and professional, he did not do one thing wrong," Cruz told South China Morning Post. "And he had plenty of gas in the tank at the end. He carried a light weight and the good draw helped, too."
Best Eleven (pictured) had been ridden by Maxime Guyon and Gerald Mosse in his previous wins, but Matthew Chadwick took the reins this time and was impressed.
"I'd ridden him earlier in his career and he is a lot more mature now," Chadwick said. "I thought he might be out of his class but he did everything perfectly."
Best Eleven was a $170,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Glenlogan Park draft and is the first foal of stakes-placed Redoute's Choice mare Betsy Pie.
The current yearling from Betsy Pie, a colt by Show a Heart will be offered by Glenlogan Park at Inglis Premier as Lot 413.
