A Mare Not to Miss
Tara Madgwick - Friday, 13 April 2012

Zabeel is the sire of the dam of 16 Group I winners, which is why this mare from a proven Black Type family and in foal to an extremely popular sire is one that should not get under the guard of buyers at the 2012 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale next week.

Consigned for sale by Luskin Park Stud is Lot 168, Japali Bike, an unraced Zabeel grand-daughter of Group I VATC Blue Diamond winner Midnight Fever.

"She comes from a terrific family that we've had a bit of success with having bred Group I VRC Australian Guineas winner Rock Classic, who appears at the bottom of the page," said Paul Whelan.

"The family was also in the news this week as Haradasun's first winner, a very promising filly called Hot Fever, is from Midnight Fever's half-sister Campbell Fever."

The best part of this young mare is that she is offered in foal to Not a Single Doubt (pictured) in her first season at stud on an early cover and we know how good the Redoute's Choice x Zabeel cross is having produced the likes of champion filly Samantha Miss as well as stakes-winners Red Lord, Fast 'n' Famous, Burgundy and Papilio.

Zabeel mares have also worked brilliantly with Fastnet Rock to produce Group I winners Atlantic Jewel and Planet Rock, so there options aplenty for this mare going forward.
