Aussie Stakes-Winner in South Africa
Tara Madgwick - Saturday, 28 July 2012

Australian bred mare Dance to the Stars scored her first Black Type win in South Africa on Friday taking the Listed East Cape Paddock Stakes at Fairview.

A five year-old daughter of Galileo (IRE) trained by Gavin Smith, Dance to the Stars took the 1600 meter feature by a length and has the overall record of six wins from 27 starts.

Retained to race by her breeder, Dance to the Stars was foaled and raised at Coolmore and is the first stakes-winner for Group III placed Woodman (USA) mare Dance on Wood.

Dance on Wood has since been on-sold and is now with Yarradale Stud in Western Australia and is due to foal to their sire War Chant (USA) this spring.

Dance to the Stars is the 109th stakes-winner for Coolmore's champion sire Galileo (IRE) (pictured) .
