Typhoon Tracy Colt Doing Well
Breednet - Media Release - Monday, 13 August 2012

Racing fans have been shocked this morning by the tragic loss of Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy, who passed away quietly at Vinery Stud shortly after producing a healthy colt by Street Cry (IRE).

A six-time Group I winner by former Vinery stalwart Red Ransom (USA), Typhoon Tracy (pictured www.stevehart.com.au) has been at Vinery for much of her life having been foaled and raised there for her owners John and Fu Mei Hutchins of Hutchins Thoroughbreds.

"The family has been with us for a long time and this is an extremely sad morning. Tracy passed away quietly following a straight forward foaling from a suspected ruptured broad ligament," said Vinery Stud Manager, Peter Orton.

"Typhoon Tracy's dam Tracy's Element, now 22 years of age, was born and reared here and the family has been an integral part of the farm for years. This is an extremely sad morning for the Hutchin's family and the stud."

Despite the loss of his famous mum, the colt is doing well.
