The new racing and breeding season is about to
hit top gear with stakes horses returning and shuttle stallions arriving on the
farms, so for a bloodstock agent it's one of the busiest times of year and also
one of the most exciting.
Young Irish bloodstock agent James Harron has become a familiar face in
Australia since launching his own company James Harron Bloodstock last year and
a well-publicized association with champion trainer Gai Waterhouse over the
yearling sale period saw his name well and truly in the spotlight.
"It was a great experience to work with Gai and Denise Martin of Star
Thoroughbreds over the sales season and we purchased some outstanding yearlings
that have really developed and pleased us since being broken in," said James
Harron.
"It will be a very exciting to see them up and racing and we shouldn't have
long to wait."
A couple of past James Harron Bloodstock purchases in Satin Shoes and Ashokan(pictured www.stevehart.com.au) are ready to go again this spring, the former a possible starter in the Group
III Concorde Stakes at Warwick Farm on September 8 and the latter being set for
the Group III ATC Run to the Rose on September 1 en-route to the Group I
$1million ATC Golden Rose.
"I've been managing and purchasing bloodstock for Dr Edmund Bateman and his
wife Belinda for several years now and it's been tremendously satisfying to
watch their success, particularly of course with Foxwedge, who stands at
Newgate Farm this spring," Harron said.
"Satin Shoes has a great fresh record and Clarry Conners has been very happy
with her, so she should run well when she steps out and Ashokan has also
returned in great order and looks set for a good campaign."
On the business front James Harron Bloodstock is moving forward with a new
initiative aimed at making bloodstock ownership a more enjoyable experience by
removing much of the hassle associated with running a large thoroughbred
portfolio.
"We believe that stringent management of your bloodstock portfolio is the
difference between winning and losing and we are now positioned to handle all
your management needs and provide a hassle free reporting structure which will
keep you ahead of the pack," Harron explained.
"We have even gone as far as offering a full accountancy service whereby we can
handle all the day to day bills of your bloodstock interests and we offer a
range of management services tailored to your individual needs."
