Dylan
Thomas (IRE) posted an impressive winner in South Africa on Sunday at Clairwood
when three year-old colt Rasheed bolted away to win as he pleased.
A homebred for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum prepared by Mike de Kock,
Rasheed stormed home to win the 1800 metre maiden by four and three-quarter
lengths at his second start.
Rasheed was conceived in Australia, but foaled down in South Africa, his dam Al
Marwa exported to South Africa in 2009 when in foal to Dylan Thomas.
He is the third winner for Al Marwa, a half-sister by Fasliyev (USA) to NZ
Horse of the Year King's Chapel.
A champion son of Danehill, Dylan Thomas (pictured) is starting to get a roll on in both
hemispheres with his three year-olds and could be a real sleeper on the
Coolmore roster this year at a value fee of $13,750.
