Sister Madly Retired, But Which Sire Does She Go To?
Tara Madgwick - Thursday, 13 September 2012

Recurring injury has forced the John Sadler stable to retire top class mare Sister Madly, a $1million purchase from the 2011 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

Brad Waters of Racenet reports her trainer John Sadler Sadler and owner Segenhoe Stud have announced her retirement after trackwork at Flemington on Thursday morning.

Sadler said the daughter of Redoute's Choice was nearly fit enough to race after two jump-outs at Flemington before injury forced her connections' decision.

"It's very disappointing for all concerned," Sadler said.

"She was just about ready to go and had been going really well but it is a recurrence of an old injury so we have decided to retire her.

"A couple of little things have popped up again so the recommendation was to send her off to stud."

Sadler said Segenhoe Stud had not yet chosen a stallion to serve Sister Madly(pictured Taron Clark) , who is a Group II winning half-sister by Redoute's Choice to Hong Kong champion Silent Witness and to the dam of last season's high class filly Empress Rock.
