Mick
Price unleashed a promising colt by champion sire More Than Ready (USA) at Sale
on Wednesday.
A homebred for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, three year-old Al Aneed
started a heavily backed favourite and gave his supporters no cause for
concern.
He jumped smartly for Glen Boss and was always travelling up on the pace before
accelerating over the final furlongs to post an effortless two and a quarter
length in the 1200 metre maiden at his second start.
Foaled and raised at Coolmore, Al Aneed is bred on the highly successful More Than Ready (pictured) x Danehill cross and has a big Black Type pedigree being the first
winner for stakes-placed Danehill (USA) mare Al Anood, a half-sister to Group I
winner Rafha, the dam of Group I winning sprinter and champion sire Invincible
Spirit.
Al Anood has a lovely yearling colt by High Chaparral (IRE) and is booked back
to the same sire this spring.
