Popular Sydney owners Geoff and Mary Grimish have had a successful week with full siblings Red Tracer winning the Group II ATC Premiere Stakes at Randwick last Saturday and Green Tracer scoring at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, their dam Kisma producing another gorgeous foal this spring in 'Baby Tracer'.
A full sister to Group I winner Shellscrape, the Chris Waller trained Red Tracer (pictured www.stevehart.com.au) resumed from a spell to score a dominant win in the Premiere Stakes and looks set for another successful campaign with the Group I VRC Myer Classic at Flemington Derby Day her primary goal.
A five year-old daughter of Dane Shadow, Red Tracer has won nine of 20 starts and more than $845,000 in prizemoney.
Green Tracer might never scale the heights of his two older siblings Red Tracer and Shellscrape, but he can win more races according to his trainer Craig Carmody, who prepared the four year-old gelding to win the Benchmark 70 event over 1300 metres at Warwick Farm today.
Green Tracer charged home from last to win by a short head at his first run back from a spell and has the overall record of two wins and two placings from nine starts.
"He hasn't been without his problems," said Craig Carmody.
"Slowly, but surely we're getting to the bottom of him and he does have the ability."
A minor winner by Snippets, Kisma has proven a gem of a producer for the Grimish's leaving five winners from six foals to race and she has more to come.
Kisma has a two year-old colt by Dane Shadow called Flak Jacket that has been given to Grahame Begg to train, a yearling colt by Redoute's Choice and has just foaled again at Kitchwin Hills producing another colt by Redoute's Choice which is pictured below.

Class: Benchmark 70. Track: Good. Time: 1:16.58. Sectional Time: 0:34.74 at 600m. Prizemoney: $35,000 - 1st: $19,880 2nd: $6,950 3rd: $3,470. |
