Reset mare Star Of Giselle earned a well deserved first stakes victory when leading all the way under Craig Williams in Wednesday's Listed Race-Tech Stakes (1600m) at Caulfield.
The Matthew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained mare is racing in a career best form after a four months off the track. She was second over 1000 metres at Sandown on September 5 before winning over 1400 metres at Caulfield on September 30.
"She is going super," said Ellerton.
"I think she got a bit tired there on the line but she had the quick progression up to a mile so we're very happy with her."
"She has still got improvement in her which is good going forward."
"We've had problems with her all through her career but this prep I've not had a problem with her so onwards and upwards."
"I will probably go the Valley on Cox Plateday and then we can finds a spot for her a couple of weeks later."
Bred and raced by Contract Racing Pty Ltd, Mr N Psaltis and Mrs G Psaltis, Star Of Giselle taked her overall record to 6 wins, 4 seconds and 1 third from 17 starts for earnings of $331,075.
Star Of Giselle is the third foal of the stakes-winning Danehill mare Princesa a dual Listed stakes-winning three-quarter sister to Swettenham Stud's young stallion Kaphero out of the Group 1 winning Centaine mare Kapchat.
Princesa has a 2yo filly by Street Cry (IRE) and a yearling colt by Domesday. She missed to Bernardini (USA) last season.
Star Of Giselle becomes the 19th stakes-winner for Darley Stud's Zabeel stallion Reset.
Darley stallions enjoyed a most productive Thousand Guineas Day.
The day's feature was taken out by the Commands filly, Commanding Jewel, Ad Valorems' Free Wheeling added a Listed stakes and the one stake stakes not won by a Darley stallion, the Listed Inglis Debutants Stakes won by Not A Single Doubt's Villa Verde, Exceed and Excel sire the second and third placed horses.
Reset stands at Darley's Victorian farm Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500.
