One of the few shuttle sires to prove his worth over a prolonged period, Dehere (USA) was in the news this week with a brilliant debut juvenile winner in Danza Doll, who won easily at Randwick on Tuesday for David Payne.
Apart from his prowess as a sire of stakes-winners, Dehere is also making a considerable name for himself as a broodmare sire, his daughters producing Group One winners Forensics and Rebel Raider as well as this season’s stakes-winners Fravashi, Reprisal, Doyoudare, New Zealand based The Lady and South African based Oracy.
Given those facts it’s no wonder Lot 112 (Click here for Sirecam video), a filly by Dehere (USA) from Ever After will be among the most inspected babies at this sale as she is the only filly by the sire to be offered in Adelaide.
A strong bodied, powerful individual, very much in the Dehere mould we expect to see, she is the second foal of the metropolitan winning Volksraad (GB) mare Ever After from the family of outstanding galloper Grey Swallow.
Lot 152 (Click here for Sirecam video), is one that jumps out on type and is the half-sister by Group One winning miler Dubai Destination (USA) to Group One placed sprinter Tramuntana from proven producer Hip Hop.
A stakes-placed daughter of leading broodmare sire Success Express (USA), Hip Hop is already the dam of slick sprinter Tramuntana and is a half-sister to the dam of another stakes-winner in Video Star.
Another Dubai Destination (USA) filly with a good pedigree is Lot 181, from the Fuji Kiseki (Jpn) mare Kiseki Angel, a half-sister to Group Two winner Lucky Secret and Group Three winner Hinting.
Lucky Secret is in career best form at present having won the Group Two MVRC Carlyon Stakes and finished second to Swiss Ace in the Group One MRC Oakleigh Plate since the catalogue went to print.
Cox Plate winner Savabeel is the sire of an eye-catching colt to be offered as Lot 178 (Click here for Sirecam video).
A leggy athletic colt with plenty of scope, he is from a good racemare in Group Three winner Khopromise (NZ), whose sire Khozaam (USA) is also sire of the dam of Melbourne Cup winner Viewed.
Another colt with some depth to his pedigree is Lot 354 (Click here for Sirecam video), by proven Group One producing sire Cape Cross (IRE) from terrific producer The Tart.
The Tart has had five foals to race, four winners led by Brisbane stakes-winner Hirschberg, a winner of eight races and more than $280,000 in prizemoney, her female family featuring outstanding New Zealand sires Zephyr Bay and In the Purple (Fr).
Dane Shadow has been one of the more popular young sires at the sales this year on the back of some encouraging results on the track with horses such as Shadow Assassin, Shadow Miss and Shellcrape.
Lot 240 is a bay colt by Dane Shadow from the Zabeel mare Nightingales Lane, a half-sister to stakes-winning sprinter Troon.
The first foal of his dam, the colt is bred on the highly successful Danehill (USA) x Zabeel cross that has produced a host of good horses including champion filly Samantha Miss.
Young Redoute’s Choice stallion Marmottan is the sire of Lot 377, the first foal of unraced Bahhare (USA) mare Vicwood Fashion.
A lightly raced son of champion sire, Marmottan has produced some good types from his first crop of foals and this colt is from a half-sister to stakes-winner Our Class and is bred on the Redoute’s Choice x Woodman (USA) cross that produced glamour filly Miss Finland.
