Smart Winner and New Stakes Horse for Rubick

Tara Madgwick - Saturday June 13

Progressive Rubick gelding Ready to Humble is building a smart record and posted his third victory at Rosehill on Saturday when taking out the $67,500 ATC Highway Plate (1500m), while in Queensland his sire produced a new stakes horse with One Shy Ruby a close second in the Listed BRC Dalrello Stakes (1200m).

A $55,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer and Neil Jenkinson from the Lustre Lodge draft, Ready to Humble has the overall record of three wins and three placings from seven starts with over $100,000 in prizemoney.

Ready to Humble is the first foal of Humble, a winning Exceed and Excel mare from the family of Group III winners Stryker and Amercement.

Trained by Chris Anderson, talented filly One Shy Ruby was beaten a long head in the BRC Dalrello Stakes at just her third start with a win and a second placing in her previous outings.

A $50,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Chris Anderson Racing / Steve Morley Bloodstock, One Shy Ruby is the second winner from Novaspirit a minor winner by Bel Esprit.

The same purchasers shelled out $35,000 for her full brother at Inglis Classic this year a good indication One Shy Ruby has more wins in store.

Novaspirit produced another colt by Rubick last spring.

The sire of Everest winner Yes Yes Yes and Group II winner Rubisaki, Rubick stands at Coolmore at a fee of $33,000.
