Another Toronado Winner for The Queen

Tara Madgwick - Friday July 17

The Queen has been enjoying good success with talented Group II winning Toronado two year-old Tactical and she has no doubt become an admirer of his sire as he gave her another winner overnight in Cloud Drift.

A homebred for The Queen trained by Michael Bell, three year-old Cloud Drift scored a neck win over a 1m at Leicester under Tom Marquand as a short priced favourite.

rift has won two of seven starts and is a half-brother to the handy Chris Waller trained galloper Humbolt Current, who was also bred by The Queen, but on-sold as a tried horse.

He now runs in the Star Thoroughbreds colours and won his first race in Australia at Eagle Farm earlier this month.

A champion miler by High Chaparral, Toronado has had a great season in Australia siring more than 50 winners of over $3.3million in prizemoney and stands at Swettenham Stud this spring at a fee of $27,500.
