Easter Vendors – Arrowfield and Milburn Creek

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 10
Arrowfield Stud finished as the leading vendor by aggregate at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale selling 26 yearlings for $10,465,000, while John Muir's Milburn Creek took top honours as the leading vendor by average.

Snitzel colt from AlinghiArrowfield sires Snitzel and Redoute's Choice underpinned the success of their draft as you would expect, Snitzel siring a colt from champion mare Alinghi to fetch $1.8 million and Redoute's Choice a filly from Weekend Beauty that made $1.1 million.

Their young sire Manhattan Rain also held up his end with a colt from star producer La Bamba fetching $700,000.

A half-brother by Encosta de Lago to Redoute's Choice, Manhattan Rain finished this sale with five youngsters averaging $316,000, which is far from shabby!

Based on the Southern Highlands of NSW, Milburn Creek brought six yearlings to the sale for themselves and one of Makybe and sold them all with the brother to Group I winner Sizzling topping the sale when sold for $2.2 million to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.

Their average of $679,167 was far above the overall sale average of $292,658.

Tyreel Stud, now under new ownership, were next on the vendors by average list selling three yearlings at an average $601,667, their best result a More Than Ready (USA) filly from Tahni Girl that made $850,000 to the bid of China Horse Club / Coolmore.

Segenhoe Stud and Attunga Stud were next on the list with Victorian based Eliza Park International in fifth position, the highest placed of the farms based outside of NSW.
