Fast Start Continues All Too Hard

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday August 19

All Too Hard’s fast start to the new season continued at Canterbury on Wednesday with two hot favourites saluting in Pitchfork and Forbidden Love, who is nominated for the Group I ATC Golden Rose next month.

The Richard and Michael Freedman trained filly Forbidden Love was resuming from a spell in the Benchmark 72 event for fillies and mares and proved too good in winning the 1200m sprint by a length and a half.

en Love was a $150,000 Magic Millions purchase for Richard Freedman from the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft and has done a tidy job from four starts with two wins and a third, her only unplaced run a sixth to Away Game in the Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes.

Forbidden Love is the second winner from stakes-placed Juliet’s Princess (USA) an imported daughter of champion sire More Than Ready from the family of North American Group winners River Squall, Better Now, Dark Cove and Heavenly Landing.

All Too Hard achieved personal best results last season with a string of stakes-winners highlighted by his first Group I winner Alligator Blood.

The Vinery Stud based sire has started the new season in hot form reeling off 17 winners so far including stakes-winner Behemoth.
