He travelled up on the pace for Blake Shinn and fought on doggedly to win the 1000 metre scamper by a short half head.

A $125,000 Inglis Premier purchase for James Harron Bloodstock from the Rosemont Stud draft, Calligrapher is the first winner for good metro winning Scenic (IRE) mare Summery, who comes from the family of stakes-winners Dance Hit, Dance With Her and Son of Maher.

Calligrapher is the 70th winner of the season for Written Tycoon, the reigning Champion Australian 2YO Sire.
